HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!
Yes, you read right. It's already ONE YEAR.
Exactly one year ago I started this little blog.
It was a lot of work - and a lot of fun.
Many things changed for me in this one year - first of all there was the unbelievable wonder of the birth of my beautiful little daughter...
My original intention to do homemade-lofi-psych was to post some weird, psychedelic stuff I and some of my friends had recorded years ago in many different bands and musical projects. Songs that were - in my opinion - too good to stay in the can and be forgotten. (You'll find more than one recording on this blog that I personally was involved in - either playing or/and recording/mixing. Guess for yourself which bands/projects that are...)
LOFI PSYCH HEADS UNITE!
Than I had the idea to offer this blog as a platform to other bands/musicians in a similar situation who also are into non-mainstream experimental or psychedelic homemade music. And you know what?
I really was surprised how great the response was. And how GOOD the stuff actually is (for the most part) that is sent to me from all over the world.
THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR MUSIC!
And so the whole thing grew and grew and now it's almost beginning to become sort of a community of homemade-lofi-psych musicians and freaks - AND THAT IS REALLY A GREAT THING!

And a very special THANK YOU to those who take the time to write some comments - and sometimes even complete little reviews - on the stuff I post. (You know who you are!)
Remember: In the end that's what it's all about: communication with other like minded people...

Okay, guess I'll start this thing off... but it's awful hard to pick favorites, with so many wonderful sounds to choose from!
For favorite album, I'll go with "A" by Lucas Nathan. From the first listening I was hooked, and repeated listenings only strengthened my love for it. It's the sort of "lo-fi" where deficiency becomes enhancement, creating its own distinctively gauzy (and hallucinogenic) sound and feel. For an all-instrumental work, there are a lot of very memorable melodies occuring. Whether you put "A" on in the background or at the center of your focus, the result is equally gratifying.
My favorite song was "America" by Barnyard (or are they Barnyard Music; I get confused). It's catchy as hell with a rhythmic tug that won't quit, indelible melodies and an awesome fuzztone guitar (fuzz bass? baritone sax?) part underlining everything. It made me dance around a little when nobody was looking!
Perhaps someday when I have some more time I'll go over my runners-up... ;)

Barnyard Music is the name we've used to categorize and group our homemade recordings..."America" is a Chris Daily song with added voice by (Me) Jeff Daily (the chorus) and my fiance helped at the introduction...We Daily Bros. consider ourselves solo artists who work together...Thanks for the rave review and check out all the new music at barnyardmusic.blogspot.com
