HOMEMADE LOFI PSYCH --- WHERE TO START?

"There is so much great music here..." WHERE TO START???

I recommend to
start with the HLFP-Samplers (especially HLFP 04).
Here you will come to know many of the bands/musicians featured in this blog. If you like what you hear, you may check out more of their music later on.
(You may also click on the picture on the sidebar and you will find the original post with download links.)

There is also a "FOCUS ON..." section. Here you will find albums that imo are absolutely great (***** = "five-stars-recordings") and that are essential listening and strongly recommended for download.

I TRY to RE-UP some stuff that has been down from time to

time, but I still don't have enough time to

listen to/post much new stuff.

Sorry!

low - fye: Trained Ghosts/Sketches (UK-Wales 2009)

In January I posted the first EP of LOW - FYE from Wales (from 2008); here we've got some new stuff of atmospheric introspective freak-folk - a collection of 2 self-released EPs titled, "Trained Ghosts/Sketches", recorded at the start of 2009. Still I hear a big SYD BARRETT influence (especially the haunting voice!) in that collection of short compositions - no song is longer than 2:35! Impressive, very cool stuff!

Enjoy!

Another fine collection. No surprises or detours, just that distinctive Low - Fye aesthetic that you can just sit and nod along to... for about twenty minutes. Then you hit "play" again.

Isn't that Anton Newcombe on the cover?

Seriously great stuff. I grew up on Syd Barrett's music and this guy is maybe a just comparison, but with an even more seemingly affable output of songs.
