HOMEMADE LOFI PSYCH --- WHERE TO START?

"There is so much great music here..." WHERE TO START???

I recommend to
start with the HLFP-Samplers (especially HLFP 04).
Here you will come to know many of the bands/musicians featured in this blog. If you like what you hear, you may check out more of their music later on.
(You may also click on the picture on the sidebar and you will find the original post with download links.)

There is also a "FOCUS ON..." section. Here you will find albums that imo are absolutely great (***** = "five-stars-recordings") and that are essential listening and strongly recommended for download.

I TRY to RE-UP some stuff that has been down from time to

time, but I still don't have enough time to

listen to/post much new stuff.

Sorry!

Jeff Daily - Miss Cretin Prosody (EP) (USA 2009/2006, 2008)

JEFF DAILY from BARNYARD sent me his latest EP "Miss Cretin Prosody".
The title track (MCP) was recorded Dec. 2008, the remaining three tracks were recorded mid/late 2006 on cassette tape. Personal is: Jeff Daily - vocals, guitars, noise/loops; Chris Daily - backing vocals, keyboards, percussion (on # 2,3). Recorded in Austin and Grapevine, TX, USA.

The 12 min plus song MCP is a true psych monster, not too be missed! It starts rather noisy and then the bass line comes into the mix, building a solid foundation for the sound escapades going on, before again fading away...Wow - I love it!
Human Race Snooze and When Will I Learn are more 'conventional' songs (you know: with real singing and true guitar playing and so on...) and the fourth track Advert is ... well, just what it says... Great stuff! Enjoy!

You'll also find one funky song by Jeff Daily with his band BARNYARD on the latest HLFP Sampler NEW KIDS ON THE BLOG.

Don't miss the BARNYARD blog; Jeff has a new full length LP posted there titled Waiting Game Blues that you might enjoy; his brother Chris too has a new LP finished, titled More Genius By The Pound and it is also posted there and Jeff says that it "is very cool/psyched out... so yeah...". Go and check it out!
