HOMEMADE LOFI PSYCH --- WHERE TO START?

"There is so much great music here..." WHERE TO START???

I recommend to
start with the HLFP-Samplers (especially HLFP 04).
Here you will come to know many of the bands/musicians featured in this blog. If you like what you hear, you may check out more of their music later on.
(You may also click on the picture on the sidebar and you will find the original post with download links.)

There is also a "FOCUS ON..." section. Here you will find albums that imo are absolutely great (***** = "five-stars-recordings") and that are essential listening and strongly recommended for download.

I TRY to RE-UP some stuff that has been down from time to

time, but I still don't have enough time to

listen to/post much new stuff.

Sorry!

Andi Paulo - Acoustic Loops, Live Neonfest (GER. 2005)

ANDI PAULO has been around the alternative music scene in the south-west of Germany for more than twenty years.
Starting as a folk-oriented busker and instrument maker in the Heidelberg area he has been moving around a lot – for years living in his own van/mobile studio. He is now based in rural Palatinate.
Andi's instrumental range is wide: He plays acoustic and electric string instruments like dulcimer and mandolin, various wind instruments, several of them conceived and crafted by himself, as well as ethnic drums and lots of homemade percussions.
10 years ago Andi started combining ethnic and folk tunes with electronic sounds and loops. This lead to the production of his first – and up to day only – CD "Talking Yoghurt", relaesed in 2003. The first edition of 1.500 copies sold well and is now out of print – a second edition is being planned at the moment.
You can find samples from "Talking Yoghurt" on Andi's Website at htpp://www.ocarina-sounds.de
This download features live recordings from Neonfest at Hasselbach, Germany, August 6th, 2005.
If you liked MAURICE RICKARD's work, posted earlier on this blog, you should definitly check this one out!
Enjoy and please support the artist!

Well, how could I resist to upload something with a title like this on my little blog? More improvised psychedelic music for your enjoyment!

Concorde - Mulpha Recordings (GER. 2002)

CONCORDE were a german experimental band, based in the middle of the downtown of Frankfurt a. M., that existed only for a short time: from 2000-2002. They played some kind of improvised, mostly instrumental neo krautrock, that also brings to mind post rock bands like MOGWAI or GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR! If you like any of those bands, you should really check 'em out!
And if you like CONCORDE, you should also have a listen to EPHEMEROL, another Frankfurt band, that has a similar concept of sound, whose recording was posted here some weeks ago.
If you want to know more about CONCORDE, go to Torstn Kauke's site, which is in german only, and write him that you want some translations...
Enjoy!
