HOMEMADE LOFI PSYCH --- WHERE TO START?

"There is so much great music here..." WHERE TO START???

I recommend to
start with the HLFP-Samplers (especially HLFP 04).
Here you will come to know many of the bands/musicians featured in this blog. If you like what you hear, you may check out more of their music later on.
(You may also click on the picture on the sidebar and you will find the original post with download links.)

There is also a "FOCUS ON..." section. Here you will find albums that imo are absolutely great (***** = "five-stars-recordings") and that are essential listening and strongly recommended for download.

I TRY to RE-UP some stuff that has been down from time to

time, but I still don't have enough time to

listen to/post much new stuff.

Sorry!

Sky Picnic - Lost Is Found/Strange Things Are Afoot (USA 2010)

The "A-side" of this digital-only single by SKY PICNIC is included (and was written for) the excellent TRIP INSIDE THIS HOUSE 2010 compilation (Summer Solstice, Vol. III), released in June. It's a brilliant neo-psychedelic song with a bass riff not too dissimilar to PINK FLOYD's Lucifer Sam.
If you haven't downloaded the compilation yet, you should do so, 'cause every track is a winner!
The "B-side" of SKY PICNIC's single is a re-recorded version of Strange Things Are Afoot and is not featured on the Trip-Inside-Sampler. So get it here (as well as the complete artwork)!
This track with Leah Cinnamon's impressive vocals catching one's ear could easily have been an outtake from the AMON DÜÜL II sessions for Carnival in Babylon or Wolf City in 1972 (b.t.w. my two favourite AMON DÜÜL II records). Just listen to the fabulous mellotron sounds!
Both tracks are strongly recommended to psychedelic rock fans!
