Spacefinger - Spacehand (USA 2009)
Talking about electronic-space-music: Here is SPACEFINGER from Houston,Texas. Not too long ago I posted 2 albums from 2007, and here you may check out how SPACEFINGER sounds now - in 2009.
All tracks were recorded April 8, 2009 - inspired by the NASA picture of PSR B1509-58. Again you'll find strange fascinating soundscapes from another world, ambient sounds, experimental, relaxing or rather disturbing...
Michael Fuller, the man behind SPACEFINGER, also recorded a new solo work with very different music: a double album collection of acoustic performances entitled "Dusk". Listen and/or download here.
Enjoy!

Sky Saxon, SEEDS singer dies at 63 (1946-2009) R.I.P.
In 1965 SKY SAXON (born Richard Marsh in Salt Lake City, Utah) founded the Los Angeles based psychedelic flower power/garage rock band THE SEEDS with Jan Savage (g), Rick Andridge (keyb) and Darryl Hopper (dr). Hit songs included Can't Seem to Make You Mine and especially (You're) Pushin' Too Hard (top 40 song in 1967). In the 1970s he became associated with Hollywood Hills commune Source Family/YaHoWha and released a number of albums under various band names in subsequent years.

Caregiver - Caregiver (USA 2007)
The debut LP by CAREGIVER from 2007. CAREGIVER is in fact the one-man-music-project of Darryl Robbins from Dayton, Ohio.
All of the LPs "were recorded in various manners with analog tape in my basement, but primarily to the computer. Some of the stuff used on them include guitars, basses, drums, Moog Modular, Minimoog, Mellotron, Mono/Poly, Poly 6, and small tape recorders. - The official releases are the self titled LP, Letters 1 & 2, and Afraid of Everything. Currently, I'm involved with no record labels at all. - I'd call the music electronic psychedelia I suppose. Influences include Tangerine Dream, Cluster, Neu!, Tim Hecker, Harmonia, Faust, Terry Riley, and Suicide. - Outside of this, I am the sole member of Peopleperson (instrumental guitar rock, like Link Wray meets Adrian Belew meets MX-80 Sound), a member of the Smug Brothers (lo-fi british style pop), the Motel Beds (pop/rock), Big Baby, and I'm also a virtual backing band for singer/songwriter Joe Anderl. The various myspace pages for these projects are...

Caregiver basically started when far too late in my life, I feel in love with classic electronic artists and began being a fan of some modern ones as well. I never thought of myself as an electronic music fan until I heard the stuff that made sense to me." (D. R.)
I hear especially a strong TANGERINE DREAM influence.
We’re Late For Class - #40 Another Collection (USA 2009)

"We're Late For Class is an improvisational psychedelic college collective who've been posting free albums on line for over 2 years. Another Collection is their 40th. 2-CDs, 142 minutes, of uncharted improvisation and drug fueled excess, including a seance with Jim Morrison, a musical romp with O.J. Simpson, a homage to producer Jimmy Miller, the theme song for a low budget cable comedy sketch show, one too many accidental nods to Hawkwind and stoned tributes to Ali, Guess Who guitarist Kurt Winter, Pink Floyd and whatever was on the box that given weekend. It's all culled from their previous 19 releases (#21-#39). Last year's #20 A Collection features highlights from #1-#19. WLFC is also prone to 20, 30 & 40 minute space jams, but didn't have the space to include any this time. The best part? It's all free for the taking. You can find We're Late For Class at any local hash bar or at their blog, http://werelateforclass.blogspot.com/." (Band info)
