THE SYLLABLE SECTION from Chicago, Illinois, have got a new album out, called "Linear Views". From listening to some of the tracks I can assure you that this is a true psychedelic delight of great originality! Yet you will hear some traces of SYD BARRETT, ROBYN HITCHCOCK and THE SOFT BOYS as well as THE FLAMING LIPS or TELEVISION. The vocals seem to be heavily phased on most tracks which adds to the surprising sound (or is that Matthew's usual singing voice...?) – sometimes slightly dissonant, but very uplifting and pleasant.
